# How will the Kurultai be formed?

## What is the Kurultai
Under the 2026 Constitution, the Kurultai is the unicameral supreme representative body of the Republic of Kazakhstan. It replaces the former bicameral system of the Mazhilis and Senate and becomes the single parliamentary centre.

## How it is formed

- The legal model was fixed in the law on the Kurultai signed on **June 5, 2026**.
